Days 1–3
Follow our 3-day itinerary — skyline and KLCC, the heritage core, and Batu Caves. That covers the essentials without rushing.
Day 4 — Local neighbourhoods
Morning: Bangsar's Sunday market if your dates line up, or a café crawl any other day. Early afternoon: TTDI for a walk on the Bukit Kiara trails and a genuinely local lunch. This is the day to slow down — fewer landmarks, more atmosphere.
Day 5 — Food deep-dive & last views
Spend the morning working through our street food guide dish by dish — nasi lemak for breakfast, then work your way to a proper lunch. Afternoon: whichever landmark you skipped — KL Tower, Thean Hou Temple, or Perdana Botanical Gardens are all good half-day options. Evening: a last rooftop drink or a final walk through KLCC Park.
Five days is enough to justify staying in two different areas — say, three nights in KLCC or Bukit Bintang, then two in Bangsar — to genuinely feel the difference between KL's polished and local sides.
If you have even more time
Consider a day trip beyond the city — Genting Highlands for cooler air and hill resorts, or Putrajaya for Malaysia's purpose-built administrative capital, both realistic as a single extra day.
